I’m surprised you made it all the way to third grade before you had that realization. Mine was in first grade, when a boy told me that my skin was “as brown as poop.” I’m sad for little third-grade-you, who didn’t get to make a video like her brother did.
First grade is very young. I'm sorry. You'll be happy to know that I disrupt such comments by saying 'Brown is the color of soil that grows the trees and food you eat! Brown is the color of my skin!'
